Self Powered Camera System for Construction Sites

Spy Camera Specialists often receives requests from people wishing to monitor their construction sites.  The following email was received from an actual SCS client:

Hello,

I have a problem with theft at a construction site.  I am looking for a small camera that will begin recording when someone enters a room.  It has to be battery powered since there is no power source at the site yet.  I prefer it not to be a clock radio etc, they would probably steal it, just something that I can hide among stacked material.  Thank you.

The thermal motion sensing camera series is perfect for commercial or residential construction sites.   If the location that needs to be monitored has very little traffic, meaning there are not a lot of people in the area during the time you wish to monitor, then the thermal motion sensing camera will be perfect.  It does not need to be plugged in to a power source which makes it easy to place wherever the camera is needed.

Most cameras use pixel movement to detect motion and in order for that to work, the camera and the DVR have to be on.   The thermal motion sensing camera is different because it detects the motion via PIR sensor. This is important for the battery life because the camera and DVR are off until movement is detected in front of the camera.  The built in Passive Infrared sensor (PIR sensor) works by sensing motion through temperature change.  The camera begins to record when an object of a pre-determined temperature moves in front of another object that is of different temperature, like a wall or a tree.  Everything is a source of energy in form of radiation, and PIR sensor detects the motion when there is a change at the source.  It is the change that triggers the camera and DVR to turn on and begin recording.

Using an internal rechargeable battery this system can standby for up to 20 days without needing to be charged.   4 GB Micro SD card means that the camera will record about 2.6 hours of video.  Memory upgrades are available up to 16 GB.

This is perfect for commercial or residential construction sites or remote sites where there is no power source available.  Lockers, medicine cabinets, utility rooms, storage units, and other places with low traffic where there is no power source are the perfect place to use a thermal sensing camera.  The camera is extremely portable and may be placed anywhere it is needed.   It can be easily moved if a change of location is desired and is ideal for areas that need to be monitored long term.

The thermal sensing camera works best in well-lit areas.  Low light conditions may negatively affect the power supply and drain the battery.  An external battery powered light source is a good investment if you plan to use the thermal sensing camera at night.  Battery powered light sources are available with motion detectors so that they will only turn on when needed.   It is a very affordable and economical solution for intrusion detection.   When it is time to view the recordings, simply remove the micro SD card out and play it on your PC.
